Over the next few weeks, a new edition of Wilmslow News from Residents of Wilmslow will be delivered to every home in the town.
It gives a snapshot of what RoW councillors have been getting on with: practical improvements across our neighbourhoods, projects to improve the town centre, work to protect Wilmslow’s character, and plans that are now moving from ideas into delivery.
After our unexpected success in the Town and Cheshire East Council elections in 2023, it understandably took time for a new group of councillors to find their feet, understand the systems and put proper plans in place. But that groundwork is now paying off.
Town Rangers, reopened town-centre toilets, Grove Street repairs, improved play areas and parks, heritage restorations, safer streets, sports-ground upgrades and a clearer long-term vision for Wilmslow are all either being delivered or coming through the pipeline.
There is much more to do, of course but these are exciting times. I am hugely proud of what our councillors, volunteers and local residents are achieving together.
Please keep an eye out for your copy and, as ever, keep sharing your ideas for how we can make Wilmslow even better.
Dave Jefferay
Chair, Residents of Wilmslow
