The Carrs Park has recently attained Green Flag status.
The Green Flag Award® scheme recognises and rewards well managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
To achieve the award, Cheshire East has been judged on a number of criteria including health, safety and security; maintenance and cleanliness; environmental management; biodiversity, landscape and heritage; and community involvement.
Green Flag status does not cover the quality of waterways, and the River Bollin running through the park remains unsuitable for bathing
