As ANSA work on cleaning, clearing, and taking care of Wilmslow’s war memorial, just before Remembrance Sunday, we’re poignantly reminded that we are members of a community that goes back centuries, and has history everywhere. From Lindow Common to Styal Mill.
With the beautiful sunshine and a crispness in the air, I took a moment to remember. To think and to dwell on those that give and sacrifice for our community. Those that give service in their own small way. It’s how a strong and vibrant community works – the volunteers that make up Wilmslow’s Clean Team, the leaders who give up their time to run the Scouts, Guides, and other groups that help support our youth, and so many more. It makes us consider how we can give our time to strengthen our town and community.
We hope to see you this Sunday at Grove Avenue at 9.30am for the parade, or at the Memorial Gardens where the traditional 11am Remembrance Service will be held, followed by the laying of wreaths and crosses.
