Celebrating when Mill Street (opposite St. Barts Church by the memorial gardens) was front and centre RoW Councillors have organised for the old street sign to be displayed at Wilmslow library.  Bearing the scars of time the old sign had been replaced by a shiny new one and was due for scrapping.

Named after the late medieval Corn Mill, now Millbank House, Mill Street saw the erection of a steam powered textile mill in Victorian times with a public house that later closed due to pressure from the temperance movement. In WW1 refreshments were served in the metal Mill Brow Mission.
